Emmett Roubaix

When your going good, it all works out well! The opening 10 miles of the race where in a neutral area because of the bad roads(it's a Roubaix race come on). Well .5 miles into the real race I went on the attack. 2miles down the road there was 4 of us from Hydepark(the top Boise team)bode, and Georges. So there was someone from every good team in the break so it was looking real good. I went to the front on the El Paso climb and dropped everyone, but I had to sit up and wait for two of them because I didn't want them to go back and have the peliton chase me down. So the three of us where really working well on the flats and the rollers. I was felling unhuman with the amount of power I had. Then another Georges guy bridged across, who was in the GC from the three other spring series races(that I didn't go to). So Hydepark stopped pulling though because his team mate was the leader of the GC. Well the four of us now make it through the 3 laps and are heading to the finish which is along ways away. Still feeling good at this point. We are getting closer and closer to the final climb which you can see for 45min before you arrive at the bottom. With 3 miles left in the race look back and see 2 hydepark guys coming up on us quick. It's the GC leader and his team mate who one this race last year. They came right over the top of us I was the only one from the break to jump on there wheels and then the team attacks started to come Mayfield(winner of last year) attacks I cover. Then the counter attack from Matt(GC leader)and I couldn't cover it. I tried to bring him back while Mayfield sat on my wheel then he launched again up to matt. I had nothing in my legs. I started up the final climb knowing that I had a lot of people behind me so I kept the gas on. 3rd place my highest placing in a Pro 1/2 Field. The day was great Sam got 4th and Mark 7th so ice had a rocking day in Emmett Idaho.
