East Canyon Road Race

Other weekend of being off the front. Today the race has a climb, that is real steep in the first Five miles. My legs where not feeling the greatest so I went in the first attack of the day so I could be off the front and make it over the climb. The legs started to open up and really felt good going up the climb I set the tempo for the majority of the way. We made the decent into the small town of Henderson where we ran into so fresh crap on the road and a bunch of cows being moved down the road. We made it by with the help of the Police escort and went on our way. At the turn around we started the time to see when we saw the peloton. 4:30 we saw the field we had over a nine minute lead on them. We kept on rotating keeping everyone on the front for a little bit at a time when we made it back to Henderson the cows where gone but there was more crap in the road. We started the big climb back towards the finish none of had really strong legs it seemed to me I was just rolling it just to keep everyone in a little pain. About 4k out we started to play cat an mouse someone went and I covered but my legs cramped I knew it then I was screwed. With 800 meters to the Finish line it was over I had nothing when the attacks went. 4th on the day not bad for thinking I was not going to make it over the first climb.
